Hollister looking good after all these years |

The Hollister Motorcycle Rally know world wide as “the birthplace of the American biker” is experiencing some super growth. July 11th, 12th, and 13th will be the dates for this annual pilgrimage of bikers from all over the world. 2007 saw the largest crowds ( over 130,000 ) to date with bikers traveling from as far away as France and Australia.
The vendors were also up which made Hollister the largest motorcycle marketplace in the west.
2008 is looking like a repeat with more vendors already signed up and the VIP parking passes selling stronger than last year. Horse Power Promotions has added some twists
to the VIP parking this year. For one, you receive a free 20.00 event t-shirt, plus you can get a photo with your scooter taken as a souvenir. What has not changed is you still get unlimited bike parking, rally pin, and a bag full of goodies including money saving coupons.
“I think that it is just that we have so much more going on this year than ever before”, stated Seth Doulton of Horse Power Promotions, the events promoter. Horse Power has had more time this year to organize with all the re-start up stuff out of the way from last years rally.
Here is just a short list of some of the events and attractions that will keep the bikers busy over the 3 day weekend. Two great rides each day all starting at Corbin’s factory and organized by Open Roads Motorcycle Tours, Mission Bike Blessing on Sunday,
"Canceled" Free motorcycle Thunderdrags Dyno Shootout, Installation Station were you can get goodies bolted on your ride, Jack Daniels Experience, bike builders from all over the US, House of Thunder Harley-Davidson stunt team, and as always Corbin factory tours, 3 Budweiser stages rocking all weekend, and tons of shopping.

Open Road Motorcycle Tours is pleased to be offering four exclusive guided motorcycle tours during the Hollister Motorcycle Rally this summer. There will be a motorcycle tour offered in both the morning and the afternoon. Both motorcycle tours include private tour guides, snacks, water and a complimentary Open Road Motorcycle Tours “Biker Gift Bag”.
The first motorcycle ride on Friday will leave from the Corbin Factory in Hollister at 10A.M and head south to Pinnacles National Monument, a 26,000 acre park that’s landscape ranges from rolling chaparral and magnificent valleys to dramatic and beautiful rock formations. Pinnacles is part of the California Condor Recovery Program and has released 19 condors into the wild. Maybe you will be lucky enough to spot one of these majestic birds from the seat of your motorcycle!
The second motorcycle tour on Friday will also leave from the Corbin Factory at 1 P.M. and head towards the California Coast into the ever-enchanting town of Big Sur. This scenic Motorcycle Tour is considered to be one of the best motorcycle rides in the country, if not the world. You definitely do not want to miss out on this motorcycle tour!
On Saturday, Open Road Motorcycle Tours will be hosting two additional motorcycle tours for those of you who were not able to join us for our motorcycle rides on Friday. The first motorcycle tour will leave from the Corbin Factory and go to Pinnacles National Monument as described in the first motorcycle tour above.
The second Saturday motorcycle tour will again leave from the Corbin Factory in Hollister at 1 P.M, but will head west to the Pigeon Point Light Station in Pescadero. This lighthouse has been guiding mariners since 1872 and is one of America’s tallest lighthouses as it is perched on a beautifully rugged cliff 25 miles north of Santa Cruz. This picturesque motorcycle tour is a wonderful opportunity to escape up California’s exquisite coast, ride through a true surf city and to end up at a historically rich site right on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Photo opportunities abound, this motorcycle ride is not to be missed!

The Hollister United Methodist Church has been putting on the annual Breakfast for seven years. The Funds raised at this event enabled the Church to raise over $10,000 for the Mabie-Northside Skilled Nursing Facility, to provide Christmas presents to over 100 children in San Benito County and to raise $10,000 for the Relay for Life.
